Commute times in Altamont -how bad?

OK so I'm a 38-year-old restaurant manager and Rent is about $898/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 10.2%, which is around average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What would you do? Cheers.

I work in education here and it exceeded my expectations. The job market for my field is improving. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from San Diego about 10 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.
