What Alton does better than anywhere else

I'm retired and The median home value here is around $126,600, which is actually reasonable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Appreciate any input. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 7 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
