Best restaurants in Altus?

Hey everyone, Median household income is $55,550, which feels about average for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in North area are decent. Kids love it here.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in West for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- The cultural scene scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Fairview. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in real estate. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
