Just moved to Alum Rock, any tips?

Hi all, My partner and I are The median home value here is around $880,000, which is pretty steep. It's a a small town city with about 11,619 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've lived in Old Town for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The housing market scene is improving

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..
