Alright, I'm originally from Kansas City and It's a a mid-size city city with about 201K people. Average temperature is around 60°F, so the weather is moderate. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Thoughts? Thanks for reading. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Greenfield area are average. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Oak Park. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2015 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone about the same since then.
