Hey, I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $2,399 for rent here. Median household income is $123,935, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $660,100 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What do you all think? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Bought a house here in 2017 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 2 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The housing market scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
