Job hunting in American Fork -tips?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Crime rate is something to consider -American Fork sits at 42.5 per 100K. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What are your go-to spots? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 37, moved here 1 years ago from New York. I've lived in Greenfield and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The weather situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for couples. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great BBQ places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Came here for family and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The weather is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much reasonable but now it's pretty good.
