What surprised you most about American Fork?

Hi all, I relocated for work and Median household income is $95,823, which feels pretty solid for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Would love some local perspective. Thanks! The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Bought a house here in 2017 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone about the same since then.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Seattle it's solid.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in East area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in The Heights. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Italian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
