Hello, The median home value here is around $263,800, which seems about average. It's a a smaller city city with about 66,112 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What are your go-to spots? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a social worker, 35, moved here 12 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The weather situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for retirees. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 10 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
