What's it really like living in Amity Gardens?

Random thought, I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider -Amity Gardens sits at 77.4 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,453 for rent here. Rent is about $1,453/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Downtown area are average. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Four distinct seasons
- The nightlife scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..
