Hey everyone, I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 6.0%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $89,788, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Anacortes sits at 114.4 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Thoughts? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
