Hi all, My partner and I are Crime rate is something to consider — Anaheim sits at 316.5 per 100K. Average temperature is around 62°F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 345K, Anaheim is a mid-size city. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. Looking forward to hearing from you all. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a chef, 29, moved here 15 years ago from Portland. I've lived in Highland and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good internet infrastructure
2. Affordable housing options
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The pet-friendliness situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for remote workers. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Portland, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$110K here.
**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The dating scene scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..

I work in manufacturing here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is excellent. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in South area are improving. Kids love it here.

Used to live on the Westside side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in construction. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Old Town for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The school system scene is solid
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
