Is public transit usable in Anaheim?

Hey everyone, Average temperature is around 62°F, so the weather is moderate. What are your go-to spots?

I've lived in East for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The safety scene is tough

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a teacher and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much affordable but now it's challenging.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

I've lived in Eastside for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- The safety scene is tough

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces

Came here for weather and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The food scene is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Westside) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 27, moved here 12 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in Sunset and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The food scene situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for families. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $100K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
