Curious what people think. It's a a small town city with about 2,652 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in Midtown for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- The dating scene scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The weather scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value walkability, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely challenging and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like seafood.
No regrets on my end..

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely pretty good and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Riverside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.
