Job market in Anchorage — what industries are hiring?

I'm in manufacturing and considering a move to Anchorage, AK. How's the job market there? The unemployment rate shows 3.0% which seems pretty good. But what does it actually look like on the ground?

Is it easy to network and find opportunities?

I'd add that the school system has been improving steadily. Otherwise spot on!

Respectfully disagree about the job market. In my experience, it's been pretty safe in my area.
