Best neighborhoods in Andover

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Andover sits at 300.7 per 100K. Poverty rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I work in marketing here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much developing but now it's improving.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Nashville about 1 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is excellent.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 10 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
