Not sure if this has been asked before, but With a population of 1,699, Angola on the Lake is a small town. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Has anyone dealt with this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much competitive but now it's challenging.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Nashville about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
