Hey everyone, Born and raised here. Rent is about $1,279/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $106,603 in Ankeny. The unemployment rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Should I be concerned? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The nightlife is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
