Came here for weather and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The nightlife is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Dallas about 10 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is solid.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Cedar Grove area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.
