Working remotely from Ann Arbor

So, Just moved here 14 months ago and Crime rate is something to consider — Ann Arbor sits at 251.4 per 100K. With a population of 121K, Ann Arbor is a mid-size city. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Has anyone dealt with this? The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Austin it's average.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in tech. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Hope this helps!.
