Day-to-day life in Annandale, VA

My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a smaller city city with about 41,982 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I overthinking this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in retail. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great Mediterranean places. I have mixed feelings honestly.
