Living in Annapolis Neck -the reality

Random thought, I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $171,833 in Annapolis Neck. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $2,805 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Annapolis Neck sits at 500.0 per 100K. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely solid and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.
