What surprised you most about Ansonia?

Poverty rate is 19.2%, which is higher than I expected. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Household incomes average around $63,462 in Ansonia. Rent is about $716/month for a decent place. With a population of 1,036, Ansonia is a small town. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Pros:
- Close to nature
- Lots of new development
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Lack of diversity
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Far from major airports
- Limited cultural events
Anyone in a similar situation? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Denver about 7 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
