Dog-friendly places in Antelope?

The median home value here is around $468,200, which is pretty steep. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Is this normal for Antelope?

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Austin it's hit or miss.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a software engineer, 50, moved here 10 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in Uptown and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Great outdoor activities nearby
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The school system situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for families. solid vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $70K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2020 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely better than expected and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Eastside) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 14 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.
