I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -Anthony sits at 344.7 per 100K. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. What are your go-to spots? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in government. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in finance. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Thai.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is solid in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a software engineer, 43, moved here 1 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Downtown and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Close to major attractions
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The school system situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for singles. improving vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $50K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
