Hey folks, We have two kids and Household incomes average around $94,256 in Antioch. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What neighborhoods would you suggest? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The school system is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely improving and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (North) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Pine Hills area are solid. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Riverside for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Diverse dining options
- The cultural scene scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, No regrets on my end..
