Housing in Apex compared to Baltimore

So, Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $138,442 in Apex. You can expect to pay around $1,784 for rent here. Rent is about $1,784/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Worth the trade-offs? Thanks! It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Used to live on the South side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in South area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Maple Ridge for 4 years. Moved from Chicago for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is improving - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Limited entertainment options. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 6/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor recreation is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been in Eastside for 2 years. Moved from Houston for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is improving - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 6/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 10 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
