Pros and cons of Apex after 15 years

I'm originally from Portland and Crime rate is something to consider -Apex sits at 94.2 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Appreciate any input. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I'm a nurse and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.
