The good and bad of living in Apex

Been meaning to ask this. With a population of 67,765, Apex is a smaller city. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. TIA! Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 9 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..
