Is Apollo Beach getting better or worse?

My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a smaller city city with about 28,347 people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The cost of living scene is improving

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Houston it's average.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Phoenix about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..
