I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider -Apple Mountain Lake sits at 153.2 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Worth the trade-offs? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.
