Anyone else love living in Apple Valley?

Random thought, The median home value here is around $377,300, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 4.7%, which is about average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Tampa about 1 years ago. The main reasons were work and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in West. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from San Francisco about 11 years ago. The main reasons were family and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is decent.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 6 years. Moved from Nashville for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Bugs and humidity in summer. And housing market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
