Working remotely from Apple Valley

My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 4.3%, which is about average. It's a a small town city with about 1,399 people. With a population of 1,399, Apple Valley is a small town. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I overthinking this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Bought a house here in 2015 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want safety, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 4 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Atlanta about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is underrated.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Highland for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- The outdoor recreation scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
