OK so Median household income is $77,450, which feels about average for the area. The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Thoughts? The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in North. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in consulting. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Moved here from Portland about 15 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to job market but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 4 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much manageable but now it's excellent.
