I'm originally from Denver and Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $2,142 for rent here. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Thanks in advance! There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely excellent and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Denver it's hit or miss.
