Best companies to work for in Arab?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 11.7%, which is around average. With a population of 8,573, Arab is a small town. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Should I be concerned? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Bought a house here in 2023 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely improving and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Highland) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 2 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
