Moving from Chicago to Arbutus next month

Curious what people think. Born and raised here. With a population of 20,869, Arbutus is a small town. Homes are going for about $296,800 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Arbutus sits at 1,338.5 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..
