Day-to-day life in Arcadia, CA

Curious what people think. You can expect to pay around $2,118 for rent here. Poverty rate is 5.1%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Arcadia sits at 142.6 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 15 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the North side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.
