Quick question about Archdale

Hi all, Just moved here 18 months ago and The unemployment rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $960 for rent here. Household incomes average around $64,984 in Archdale. With a population of 11,992, Archdale is a small town. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Has anyone dealt with this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely excellent and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Old Town) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
