Is Archie walkable?

Longtime lurker here, You can expect to pay around $1,033 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Archie sits at 82.6 per 100K. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I've lived in Eastside for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- The dating scene scene is improving

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 14 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for school and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The food scene is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely underrated and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Uptown) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited entertainment options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (North) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
