My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $71,767, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $504,400 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Let me know your thoughts. Looking forward to hearing from you all. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Dallas about 1 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is decent.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in education. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Indian.
