Arecibo zona urbana quality of life -am I missing something?

We're a young couple and Poverty rate is 40.2%, which is higher than I expected. The unemployment rate is 7.5%, which is concerning. Rent is about $494/month for a decent place. Median household income is $21,984, which feels on the lower side for the area. Average temperature is around 78--F, so it's warm year-round. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good job market
- Nice parks and trails
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- High property taxes
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Far from major airports
What neighborhoods would you suggest? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The food scene is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
