Hello, Homes are going for about $110,900 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 40,255 people. With a population of 40,255, Arecibo zona urbana is a smaller city. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What would you do? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I work in construction here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is improving. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Miami about 8 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is decent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..
