What surprised you most about Arecibo zona urbana?

Random thought, I'm a teacher here and Average temperature is around 78--F, so it's warm year-round. The median home value here is around $110,900, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 40,255, Arecibo zona urbana is a smaller city. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Nice parks and trails
- Low crime in most areas

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Sprawl everywhere
- Lack of diversity
- Far from major airports
What are your go-to spots? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Bought a house here in 2016 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
