Military spouse here. Homes are going for about $403,200 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Arlington Heights sits at 43.9 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Has anyone dealt with this? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
