Arlington Heights in the winter -how bad?

Longtime lurker here, Been living here since 2013. The median home value here is around $403,200, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $1,727/month for a decent place. Median household income is $118,532, which feels pretty solid for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Appreciate any input. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Oak Park. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
