Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and Rent is about $1,727/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 5.2%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 76,220 people. The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. With a population of 76,220, Arlington Heights is a smaller city. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Nice parks and trails
- Low crime in most areas
- Diverse community
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited nightlife
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Has anyone dealt with this? The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
