Things that make Arlington Heights unique

So, Military spouse here. Household incomes average around $118,532 in Arlington Heights. The median home value here is around $403,200, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $1,727/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is average in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in education. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
