Anyone else love living in Arlington?

Hello, Crime rate is something to consider -Arlington sits at 890.2 per 100K. With a population of 2,522, Arlington is a small town. Median household income is $82,983, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $82,983 in Arlington. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Worth the trade-offs? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Midtown for 14 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Dating scene is rough. Homeless population growing downtown. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Greenfield. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in marketing. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for family and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The community vibe is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
