Hey folks, The median home value here is around $195,500, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 1,446, Arlington is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much manageable but now it's tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from New York about 14 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the Highland side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.
